Old Orchard Beach at Sunrise
This is a vertorama of sunrise at Old Orchard Beach in Portland, Maine on December 8, 2018, 07:13. Low tide was a couple hours earlier and it was about 9°F. There is a little bit of sea smoke behind the waves in the distance. The intricate patterns in the sand were mesmerizing.
Camera settings: 70mm, f/13, ISO 64, 1/40 sec.
Stitching data: 5 columns in a single row (landscape orientation) plus focus stacking for a total of 40 images. The final image is 182MP and 8ft x 2.8ft.
Equipment used: Nikon D850, Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II, Nodal Ninja RD16-II indexed rotator, and Really Right Stuff TVC-34L tripod, leveling base, & pano/gimbal head. Focus stacked with Helicon Focus (RAW-to-DNG workflow), stitched and edited with Lightroom.
