Aurora over Mount Katahdin
While sitting in front of a warm campfire at New England Outdoor Center, I set up my camera a few feet away to shoot a timelapse of the Aurora Borealis over Mt. Katahdin and Millinocket Lake on October 12, 2017, 00:15. Vega shines brightly to the left and a 54% moon lit the mountain and pine trees.
Camera settings: 24mm, f/2.8, ISO 5000, 20 seconds for the sky and f/2.8, ISO 800, 510 seconds for the foreground.
Equipment used: Nikon D850, Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8, and Really Right Stuff TVC-34L tripod & BH-55 ballhead. Edited in Lightroom, blended in Photoshop.
