The weather didn’t cooperate for one evening of our night sky workshop last month at Acadia Images Photograph Workshops, so we found some other interesting things to shoot. This is a small beaver pond near Eagle Lake on Mount Desert Island during civil twilight around 8PM on May 17, 2015. It was very windy with rolling fog blowing through, making it a challenge to shoot panoramas and video. A couple of curious beavers came out to see what we were up to.

The full size panorama below consists of 3 rows of 11 photos, measures ~707 megapixels, and can be printed up to 146” x 54” @ 300dpi. I shot it with a Nikon D810, Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR II, Really Right Stuff TVC-34L tripod w/ leveling base & pano/gimbal head @ 70mm, f/4, ISO 2500, and 1/40 shutter. Processed with Lightroom, stitched & blended with PTGui Pro, and cropped with Photoshop (because Lightroom is limited to 512 megapixels).
